Team Goals

·        To improve fundamentally each day.

·        To communicate with each other and work together as a team.

·        To begin to understand the game of softball.

·        Make a commitment to Pius X Softball Program.

Player Expectations

·        Be ready to go every day.  That means taking care of your body by getting plenty of rest, and eating right.

·        By trying out and making the team, you have made a commitment to the team.  You have to honor that commitment and do what it takes to be on this team.

·        Every time you step on the field you are giving your best effort.  That means forgetting about what happened during the day at school and focusing 100% on softball.

·        We are a team, and each member of that team has a specific role.  The roles may be different, but whatever your role is you embrace it and you do it to the best of your ability.

·        Only positive team members are wanted.  Negative team members bring down the team and break the team spirit.

Practice Expectations

·        Every practice will be attended.  All practice times are subject to change.  Players will be told of changes in advance.

·        Be ready to go before practice starts.  Do not arrive at the field when practice begins.

·        Practices must be at the same level that our games will be played at.  You practice like you play.  Working hard at practice will result in us working hard during the games.

·        Have fun!!  You play softball so you enjoy it.

·        Our season is short, six weeks, so we must use our time wisely and be productive.  We need your undivided attention each and every day.

2.     After chapel get dressed here and head to the fields.

3.     Junior Varsity needs to be at the fields ready to go by 4:00.  Varsity team members need to be there before the start of the JV game.  Be supportive of your teammates.   JV should stay for Varsity games.

AWAY GAMES OUT OF TOWN

1.       We will have chapel before we leave.  After chapel we will get dressed and head out to the bus.  We have lots of away games this year so be ready to go and not messing around.

2.     The way to the game is a time for us to get ourselves mentally prepared  for the game.

3.     Once arriving at the opponents field the jv gets their shoes on immediately and begins warming up.

4.     We want you to ride the bus home with the team.  It helps build team chemistry.  If you do need to go home with your parents I have to be notified.  You can only go home with your parents, not someone elses.
